Black Swan Defense was founded by Mark and Slade McCuiston in 2024 with the mission to provide high-quality training and comprehensive security services to law enforcement, military, security, and responsible citizens. We believe that everyone, regardless of background, should have access to the same level of training and preparation, whether through advanced tactical training or professional security services.

Mark McCuiston

With more than 30 years in law enforcement, and over 21 years of that as a police supervisor, Mark McCuiston provides unparalleled expertise.  Throughout his distinguished career, Mark has worked extensively with local, state, federal, and international agencies.  Mark brings a diverse skill set to the table, including experience as an armorer, use-of-force and firearms instructor, and investigator.  Mark’s leadership and mentorship skills, coupled with his hands-on experience, have made him a trusted figure in the training community.

Slade McCuiston

​Slade McCuiston holds a Bachelor’s of Science from Murray State University and is a law enforcement professional with a robust background. With nearly ten years of experience, including six years in a supervisory capacity, Slade has demonstrated exceptional skill as an armorer, use-of-force and firearms instructor, and investigator.
